TRANSBEUROP
was founded in 1984 with the aim of bringing together companies
active in the processing of butter and its constituents, which are established
in the EU. Today, membership covers 13 butter processing companies based in 6
Member States of the EU, representing 85 % of the total butter processing industry.
The main objectives of TRANSBEUROP are:
- to follow the overall situation of the butter and milk fat
market at EU level as well as worldwide;
- to make known
the role, functions and consumption of dairy fats in food products, which have
considerably changed over the years ;
- to highlight the
nutritional benefits of butter, the advantages of new technologies (innovation)
and to enhance the image of butter and butterfat;
- to
find technical and economic solutions.
Through
numerous meetings and regular talks with representatives of the different Commission
services, TRANSBEUROP is effectively able to make the voice of the European butter
processing industry heard. It provides the European Commission with information
and views on what is happening in the markets and in the industry as well as on
intended legislation. Transbeurop
members have access to the Eucolait information service, which sends out rapid,
and if necessary, daily information in the three working languages of the secretariat:
English, French and German. With the "EUCOLAIT Info-Service", current
and urgent information concerning the dairy sector is sent out on all decisions
taken in Brussels. | TRANSBEUROP
shares the secretariat facilities of EUCOLAIT in Brussels, close to the
European institutions. Contact
